Privacy Policy

DateSafe collects the information needed to provide the service: your phone number and consent records; the trusted contacts you choose; date plans, session and check-in activity, alerts, and optional location; private journal text and photos; push notification identifiers; and subscription status. Optional AI features process only the information you explicitly submit and only if you opt in.

We use this information to sign you in, run safety sessions, deliver check-ins and alerts, share the information you choose with your trusted circle, provide private journaling and AI tools, support subscriptions, prevent abuse, and operate the service. It is never sold to third parties or used for targeted advertising, and it is never used to train AI models.

Location is optional. If you enable it for a safety session, DateSafe collects your precise location while that session is active. If you separately enable background location, collection can continue while the app is closed or not in use so your private live link and emergency alerts stay current. Background collection stops when the session ends.

Session location may be shared only with the trusted contacts you chose for that session, through time-limited private links and safety alerts. Stored coordinates are encrypted. Location points from ended sessions are normally deleted after 72 hours.

Contact access is optional. When you use the native contact picker, you choose the person to import; DateSafedoes not upload your full address book. A selected contact's name and phone number are used to send and manage the invitation.

Date plans, journal entries, journal photos, AI requests, and location coordinates are encrypted before storage. Journal entries remain private to your account unless you deliberately share information through a Date Card or safety session.

We use phone numbers and text-message consent records to provide sign-in codes, trusted-contact invitations, and safety alerts. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for their own marketing.

We use communications service providers only to deliver and protect the messages you request. Message frequency varies with each user's sessions and safety actions. Message and data rates may apply. You may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance at any time.

We use service providers for secure hosting, database storage, phone verification and safety text messages, push notifications, subscription processing, and optional AI processing. They receive only the information needed to perform those services and may not use it for their own marketing. Apple and Google process purchases under their own privacy policies; DateSafe receives subscription status rather than full payment-card details.

We keep account content while your account is active unless a shorter period is required to operate the feature. Time-limited safety links normally expire within seven days, completed notification and emergency-delivery records are normally removed after 30 days, and completed AI jobs are normally removed after 30 days. Security audit logs may be kept for up to one year.

Deleting your account permanently deletes the account and associated user content from the active service. You can delete it inside the app or use our account deletion page. We may retain limited records when legally required or necessary to document a completed transaction, resolve fraud, or protect the service.

You can export or delete your data at any time, manage who is in your circle, and turn AI assistance, contact access, notifications, and location permissions off whenever you choose. Contact us and we will help you exercise any of these rights promptly.

Your data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest on our servers. We follow industry-standard practices to keep your information secure.
